Professor Wicker joined our faculty in 1955 and retired in 1992 after 37 years of teaching, upon which he continued an active research agenda and published three books. The Elmus R. Wicker Professorship in Economics in honor of Professor Wicker was created by E. Scott Thatcher, who is an IU Economics alumnus.
