This year we are continuing the MEG tradition of a mentoring workshop for junior female economists. Due to the pandemic, this year’s workshop will take place virtually. We look forward to future years where we hope to hold an in-person meeting. Since this will be virtual this time, we are planning an informal three-hour event with:
- 11am-12pm ET: Introduction of all participating mentors and mentees (Zoom Link)
- 12-1pm ET: Panel Discussion with six mentor panelists representing six different types of career opportunities for economists. Marcelle Chauvet (University of California Riverside) will serve as the moderator. (Zoom Link)
- Gee Hee Hong (International Monetary Fund)
- Kirstin Hubrich (Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System)
- Anna Mikusheva (Department of Economics, MIT)
- Kosali Simon (School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University)
- Xin Tang (Amazon)
- Nora Traum (Department of Applied Economics, HEC Montreal) - 1-2pm ET: Break-out Sessions
- Empirical Macro (Zoom Link)
