Meet Our New Staff

Alexandra Burlingame joined the Department of Economics in March of 2024 when Economics was added to her portfolio of College of Arts + Sciences units. Alex serves as a multi-unit fiscal officer for several academic departments in the College and is delighted to assist Economics with their budget, financial reporting, grants, fiscal policy, etc. Alex earned her Master of Arts degree in Art History at IU Bloomington and began her career in the College as their Department Manager in 2014. Alex transitioned to a multi-unit FO role in 2017 and now serves as a Senior Fiscal Support Specialist in the central College Finance Office. She lives in Bloomington with her spouse and three dogs.

Erin Kirchhofer started her professional career with Indiana University in 2003, working for 12 years in various student services positions. When an opportunity arose to serve her community closer to home, Erin left IU to work in social services rejoining the Hoosier family in early 2024. Erin brings to the Department of Economics nearly 20 years of administrative experience and leadership and is passionate about creating a positive work environment. She strives to foster strong relationships that support team collaboration, inclusivity, and dedication to the craft. Erin lives in Brown County with her family and pets and is a graduate of Indiana University. If she had to pick one passion to share with the world, it would be anything to do with food (cooking it, growing it, learning about it, reading about it, watching it be made on TV…).

Chris Klein is the lead Academic Advisor for Economics students, and also proudly serves students pursuing majors/minors in Mathematics, Statistics, and Management & Human Organization. Chris' background spans roles in career coaching, academic advising, and education abroad advising at IU and DePauw University.

Originally from Osceola, Indiana, Chris' claims to fame are studying abroad three times in undergrad and being bilingual (German). Chris holds a B.A. (German) from IU South Bend and an M.A. (College Student Personnel) from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Having moved to Bloomington in 2014, Chris considers himself a "townie" and in his free time, Chris loves to play video games, hang out with friends, and visit the library.

Paulette Davidson Retiring

Paulette Davidson is retiring at the end of the fall 2024 semester after 11 years of service as Department Secretary, Student Services Assistant. She is the first point of contact for all who enter the department’s reception area in Wylie 105 and enjoys answering a wide variety of questions about the department and assisting the faculty and graduate students, all of which she does with a smile. Paulette loves to help people.
