The Advances in Econometrics conference in honor of Joon Y. Park will take place in Bloomington, Indiana. Joon has made important contributions to many areas in econometrics, including foundational work on nonstationary time series. Sponsors of the conference include Indiana University, the University of Missouri, and StataCorp. The conference will feature presentations of a variety of works from the econometrics research frontier, and a series of panel discussions by econometricians from across the profession on the topic of the past, present, and future of econometrics. The aim of the conference is to bring together a wide array of econometricians and produce a volume with panel discussions and papers contributed by the participants.
Panel Discussions on Past, Present and Future of Econometrics
To our pleasant surprise, we received overwhelming responses with more than 130 acceptances. So this conference will turn out to be also a rare opportunity for us, from all corners of econometrics, to come together and celebrate. We took this opportunity to organize panel discussions on the critical issues challenging our econometrics profession with a theme ‘Past, Present and Future of Econometrics’. We are happy to report that we have had enthusiastic support to form a pool of outstanding panelists. We are planning four panel sessions, each with six panelists and a moderator.

Parking
If you're visiting IU Bloomington and would like to park on campus, there are multiple parking options. You can park in an IU garage, park at a meter, or purchase a one-day visitor permit. If you stay on-campus at the Indiana University Memorial, Biddle Hotel & Conference Center, you will receive a complimentary parking pass upon check-in to the hotel, and the hotel and parking lot are across the street from Wylie Hall. If you are staying off-campus, we recommend that you park in the Henderson Parking Garage. On Friday, an alternative to paying the maximum gate ticket rate of $24 for 4 hours is to immediately after parking, exchange the gate ticket for a $10 one-day visitor EM-P permit in the Office of Parking Operations located in the lower level of the garage. You will be asked to provide your license plate number. When entering the garage on a weekday before 7 a.m. without a valid EM-P permit, you need to take a ticket even though the gate is raised. You will need this ticket to pay when you exit after 7 a.m. unless you purchase a one-day visitor permit. Parking is free from 6 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. on Monday, unless otherwise noted. If you have an EM-P permit, you may access the garages free of charge at any time. The garages accept American Express, Discover, JCB, MasterCard, or Visa. The garage is an automated facility. Wylie Hall is a 5-minute walk from the garage.
