"Using Science to Understand How to Make the World a Better Place: From Philanthropy to Corporate Social Responsibility" -- Presented by Dr. John List of the University of Chicago.
In this engaging lecture, Dr. John A. List will summarize some of his recent field experiments to understand the whos, whats, wheres, and whens of charitable giving and corporate social responsibility.
Dr. List is the Kenneth C. Griffin Distinguished Service Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on questions in microeconomics, with a particular emphasis on using field experiments to address and explain human behaviors and how they bear on economic models. His work has covered topics ranging from the reasons behind charitable giving to discrimination in sportscard trading markets to gender earnings gaps in the gig economy.
The lecture will be viewable on the Indiana University, Bloomington campus beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Maple Room located in the lower level of the Indiana University Memorial Union.
