Bo Hu is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Indiana University. His research interests include econometrics, macroeconomics, and economic growth and development. Bo Hu’s research focuses on functional data analysis in the time series setting, both theoretically and empirically, with applications in macroeconomics and finance, and on developing and using big data analytical tools, such as machine learning methods to study important issues such as inequality and mobility in economics. He is also very interested in macroeconomics, monetary economics, economic growth and development and has research papers in these areas. Bo Hu earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University and has taught at Peking University. At IU he will be teaching advanced undergraduate and master’s level classes on econometrics and big data.
