Bulent Guler’s primary research interests include quantitative macroeconomics and labor markets. One line of his current research focuses on housing and mortgage markets. In a recent paper, he explores the effect of innovations in information technology on housing and mortgage markets, particularly homeownership rates, foreclosure rates, and mortgage terms. The other line of his research focuses on the labor markets. In another paper, he analyzes joint job-search and location problem of a household formed by a couple, and he points out to the new opportunities and new frictions that a couple faces compared to a single-searcher. Bulent is a native of Turkey. He holds a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and M.A. degree in Economics from Bilkent University, Turkey, as well as an M.A. degree in Economics from University of Rochester.
